Weekly Market Comment – March 25th
The last week has seen recession worries return to financial markets. This has resulted in some weakness in equity markets and yields on long term bonds collapsing, with the stand-out statistic being that the yield on a 10 year Bund is back in negative territory. The week ahead could be volatile for financial markets as the economic uncertainty looks certain to be compounded by “Brexit” developments in the UK. Initially this week was set to be the week the UK leaves the EU but this looks set to be extended, with the question being for how long and to what end?
